The Greatest Showman is an entertaining musical and a good family movie. The cast is talented, and the plot is good. My sisters really liked the music and said it was catchy. I enjoyed the music, but personally didn’t find it catchy. To me the music sounded too edited/studio manipulated. I’m used to music styles like Wicked, Newsies, The Scarlet Pimpernel, etc. and this music, while good, wasn’t my style. However, this is a movie I wouldn’t hesitate to watch again or recommend. It’s simply a movie I wouldn’t buy the soundtrack too.
This show is a fun, innocent show for young girls. While some adults might find it painful/cheesy, it is simply a sweet, fun, innocent show. It’s nice to have a light-hearted, clean show to simply relax too.
This is based off of a book; I have not read the book yet.
I saw the movie in theaters. It was the best movie I saw in 2017. Definitely a family film and one that will make you laugh and cry.
It’s definitely going in my top 10 movies.
Haven’t read the book, but have been told it is good.
Disappearance of Winter’s Daughter: Riyria Chronicle #4 by Michael J. Sullivan is by far the funniest of the four Riyria Chronicles yet. Loved it! It has a very good message of hope.
Update: Finished the book. It wasn’t nearly as funny as How to Train Your Dragon, but it is a series I will continue to read.
Currently enjoying Wizards of Once the newest book by Cressida Cowell (author of How to Train Your Dragon).
