Thieftaker Chronicles by D.B. Jackson is an entertaining series about a conjuror (which) who solves mysteries during the pre-revolutionary war era. Tensions are high between the British soldiers and the colonists, and to top it off, magic is illegal. It makes for an entertaining story.
Content-wise, I’d say this book is probably PG-13.
And no, the book is not nearly as creepy as the cover makes it appear to be.
